You should go to the doctor, they might be getting infected since you are scratching so much. The doctor will be able to give you a medicine that will work much better, maybe steroids along with something else.

I used lamp oil. Put on cloth and wiped down entire body, waited about 5 minutes and showered. Worked. That was about 10 years ago. We were spending the summer in a campground at that time. We sprinkled 7 dust on the ground of the camp site. Have them again. Will be using lamp oil again this time.

Ouchy, Mackenzie! I have been dealing with chiggers for decades, in fact I have three bites right now.
I always use four things to ease the pain and itching, and even kill them it seems. First I rub 90%
isopropyl alcohol all over the itchy places, two or three times in a couple of minutes. Ahhh, helps some right away. The strong alcohol works best but even the 50% type does help.
Then I use two creams from dollar tree( you can certainly find the creams elsewhere).
Anti-itch cream containing 2% Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride and 0.1% Zinc Acetate is the one I apply to each bite first. Next I apply 1% Hydrocortisone cream. I do not leave so much that the areas are white after I rub the creams in well. Wait until the creams seem dry and then apply a couple coats of clear fingernail polish to each bite, about the size of a dime. Let the polish dry and
it will help to kill the chiggers, as I have always been told(even by Pharmacists)this suffocates the
chiggers.
I know from many(over fifty) years of experience, that this process takes care of any chigger bites you may have.
