  1. I have had razor burn and subsequent bump breakout just once in my life. That time I shaved in a rush. These home remedies are very helpful, but I want to give advice to my fellow men, especially black men because we have naturally curly hair which is a nice recipe for getting those ugly bumps.
    So here’s what I normally do before and during shaving.
    1. I simply do a very serious pre-shave prep. If you are shaving your neck or even pubes, you have to soak. Soak to soften the hair to make it easier for the razor and also your skin.
    2. I apply a shaving cream. Don’t buy cheap creams. You won’t like it.
    3. I never use my razors twice. In fact, if I think it is not good enough, I change the razor while shaving just to make sure it is sharp enough, and new! Yes.
    4. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART: THE SHAVING TECHNIQUE. If you want to prevent razor rash, shave along the direction of hair growth. If you do anything opposite, expect an itchy skin and bumps.
    5. Cleanse your skin thoroughly.
    Sorry for my lengthy comment, but I hope this helps many men and women out there.

    • I am 24 years old and I only recently learned how to properly shave. I’ve been doing it now (shaving) for over 12 years. No one every properly taught me how. I use to shave up… EVERYWHERE! Even bikini. That was such a harsh thing to do to my body.

      * Soak
      *Soak
      *Cleanse
      *Cream
      *SHAVE DOWNWARD {in the same direction as the hair growth}
      *Once you do that you can shave up down side to side or in circles {o don’t really recommend that tho}
